Quiz: Which monster would you let devour you (in the best way)?

For my monster smut girlies (and those who are curious) find out which one would have you weak, wet and in another world of pleasure.

Tanned man with a bare chest standing in profile with a black minotaur headdress on in front of an arena audience.

Ever found yourself feral for an MC, but thinking, ‘Yes, all the yes, but… what if they had horns?’ or ‘What if they were ancient and unknowable and built in ways that defied biology?’ or even ‘What if the thing that went bump in the night was actually very, very good at other things?’

I see you. I am you, darling. And in the spirit of owning our desires completely, here’s a fun little quiz to find your perfect monster match for some deliciously unhinged imaginings.

1. Your ideal monster energy is...

A. Ancient, seductive, and in complete control from centuries of practice in making someone feel like the only living thing in the room.

B. Feral and instinct-driven; all that barely-leashed wildness straining against whatever thin veneer of civilisation they've managed to construct.

C. Massive, powerful, and surprisingly, devastatingly gentle when it counts.

D. Curious and devoted in ways that feel entirely new; studying you like you're the most fascinating thing in any universe they've encountered.

E. Deep and mysterious in a sense that predates language. The pull of them is tidal and just as impossible to resist.

F. Dark, forbidden, and operating by a completely different set of rules to everyone else in the room.

2. The setting that does the most for you is...

A. A grand, gothic estate at midnight. Think candlelight, stone corridors, the particular atmosphere of somewhere that has kept secrets for generations.

B. Dense forest, full moon, the kind of wildness that makes civilisation feel very far away and entirely irrelevant.

C. Ancient stone: a labyrinth, a temple, somewhere that feels like it belongs to a time before the world had words for what lives there.

D. Somewhere completely otherworldly: a ship between stars, a planet with two moons, a sky the wrong colour and everything about it magnificent.

E. The deep ocean. The pressure of it. The dark and the cold and the things that move through it that have no human name.

F. The underworld. The in-between. Somewhere that exists at the edge of the living world and operates entirely by its own ancient logic.

3. The physical detail that makes you close the book and take a moment to steady your breath is...

A. Fangs at the throat: not breaking skin, just there, just a reminder of exactly what they are and what they're choosing not to do.

B. The sheer size of them: barely contained, barely restrained, choosing you specifically with their whole feral chest.

C. Horns. The specific, overwhelming reality of horns. Needs no further explanation–IYKYK.

D. Bioluminescence. The involuntary glow when they're close, because their body is simply responding to the FMC’s.

E. Tentacles used with a precision and attentiveness that makes you question everything you thought you wanted.

F. Eyes that aren't quite human: that glow, or shift, or see in the dark in ways that make being watched by them feel entirely different to being watched by anyone else.

4. The dynamic that undoes you completely is...

A. Immortal patience. Centuries of waiting, and they will wait exactly as long as you need, which somehow makes everything more charged, not less.

B. The moment the control slips; when the careful, constructed restraint gives way to something purely instinctual and the FMC is the reason.

C. Gentle giant energy. A creature of immense, ancient power being extraordinarily, almost reverently careful.

D. First contact. The specific thrill of being the thing they have decided, across the vast indifference of the universe, to choose.

E. Being pulled under: willingly, completely, into something deep and dark and entirely consuming

F. Corruption that feels like liberation; the entity who sees the parts of you that you'd been told to suppress and calls it magnificent.

5. Your honest relationship with the concept of being claimed is...

A. Entirely, enthusiastically in favour (particularly if claiming involves intense eye contact, exquisite pain and very little ambient light).

B. Feral about it, if we're being honest: the primal, instinct-driven kind where there is no ambiguity whatsoever.

C. Here for the sheer physical reality of what being claimed by something that size actually means, and not even slightly sorry about it.

D. Newly converted. You didn't know you wanted this specific flavour of devoted otherworldly possession until you can’t unknow it.

E. Drawn to the all-consuming version: the kind that pulls rather than pushes, that feels like drowning in the best possible sense.

F. Drawn to the forbidden version: the claim that comes with a contract, a price, a darkness accepted with eyes entirely open.

6. The smut quality you absolutely cannot compromise on is...

A. Sophistication: seduction as an art form, endless years of practice, and the specific devastation of being the focus of all of it.

B. Intensity: the kind of raw, physical, barely-contained energy that makes every interaction feel like it's operating on the edge of chaos.

C. Size: we're not being coy about this, darling, and neither are you.

D. Devotion: the being who has decided you are their entire reason for existing in this solar system and means every word of it.

E. The unknown: the deep, the strange, the things their body can do that have no human equivalent and are all the better for it.

F. The transgression: the sense that this is forbidden, dark, and chosen with full, delicious awareness.

7. When the monster first sees you, they...

A. Go very still. Watch. Say nothing for a long moment that says everything.

B. React with their body before their mind catches up; something shifts, something recognises, and they couldn't turn back if they tried.

C. Don't approach immediately. Observe from a distance that feels careful rather than hesitant, like they're accounting for what they are before getting any closer.

D. Catalogue you with a focus so complete and so unashamed it should be alarming and is instead, somehow, the most attractive thing that's ever happened to you.

E. Surface from something deep and dark, and look at you like you're the first light they've seen in a very long time.

F. Smile. And the smile tells you everything you need to know about exactly what kind of situation you've walked into.

8. Your self-care night aesthetic is...

A. Dark and deliberate. Wine, candlelight, something moody on the playlist, the particular luxury of an evening that belongs entirely to you.

B. Primal and unapologetic: windows open, singing loudly. No clothes, no performance, no pretence.

C. Classic and indulgent. Rich textured throws and cushions, a hearty meal–the kind of sensory experience that feels like it belongs to a different, more decadent time.

D. New and curious. You approach your self-care and pleasure with openness, trying new things, wondering what you can discover about yourself tonight.

E. Deep and immersive. If it’s not a long bath with atmospheric music and mood lighting, you don’t want it.

F. Dark and transgressive. Sending messages and watching films you’d never want your mother to see…

9. If the monster has a lair, it's...

A. Opulent and ancient — the accumulated spoils of centuries, immaculate and preserved, because time moves differently when you have unlimited amounts of it

B. Wild and instinct-built — somewhere that prioritises territory over aesthetics, and somehow that's more appealing than it has any right to be

C. Stone and vast and quiet — the kind of space built for a body that doesn't fit anywhere else, made different by your presence in it

D. Incomprehensible to human understanding and absolutely fascinating — you want to touch everything and they want to watch you do it

E. The deep — pressure and dark and the particular silence of somewhere no human has ever been, made welcoming in ways you didn't expect

F. The threshold space — somewhere between worlds, between rules, between what's permitted and what isn't

Your results - which is your monster match?

Mostly As: Your monster match is a Vampire

Centuries of patience, darling, and every single moment has been leading to this. Vampires are sophisticated, controlled, and devastatingly intentional, having perfected the art of seduction and bring every single tactic to bear on you specifically. The spice is slow and deliberate and entirely without mercy. They know exactly what they’re doing. Fangs at the throat, eyes that have seen everything and still find you the most interesting thing in any room, the particular charge of being wanted by something that has seen empires rise and fall and chosen you. This is your flavour of monster and you have exquisite taste.

Mostly Bs: Your monster match is a Werewolf

Primal and completely unapologetic about it. Werewolves operate on instinct first and reason a distant second, and you find this enormously appealing. The barely-leashed wildness. The fated mate recognition that hits like a freight train and leaves absolutely no room for denial. The specific thrill of a creature of enormous, feral power choosing you with every single animal instinct they possess and none of his carefully constructed restraint. The spice is intense and unpolished and all the better for it. Full moon energy, forest floor urgency, and a possessiveness that brands itself on every single scene. Not subtle. Never subtle. Exactly right.

Mostly Cs: Your monster match is a Minotaur

Ancient, massive, and carrying the particular loneliness of something that has never fit anywhere, until you. Minotaurs are the gentle giants of the monster smut world and you have always been here for it. The stone labyrinth. The horns. The sheer, overwhelming physical reality of him and the extraordinary care with which he navigates it. Beauty and the beast energy at its most primal, most emotionally resonant, and most explicitly satisfying. The spice is about contrast: the vast, careful hands and what they're capable of. The tenderness of something so powerful choosing softness. And then there’s the size of everything… It is a lot. And you are entirely here for it.

Mostly Ds: Your monster match is an Alien

The universe is vast and incomprehensible and he crossed it for you, darling; that's the energy and you are completely, correctly obsessed with it. Aliens bring a devotion so total and so earnest it makes every human MC look like they weren’t really trying. The luminous skin. The anatomical surprises. The specific delight of someone who approaches pleasure with the genuine, focused curiosity of someone encountering it for the first time and determined to understand it completely. The spice is inventive and surprisingly tender. There’s no cultural baggage, no internalised shame, no script for how this is supposed to go. Just desires fulfilled thoroughly, repeatedly and with several physical attributes that defy straightforward description.

Mostly Es: Your monster match is a Sea Creature

Deep, ancient, and moving through the dark with a grace that has no human equivalent. Sea creatures have been in the depths long enough to make surfacing for anyone feel significant. And it is. The tidal pull of them, the vast unknowable quality, the specific creativity of a body built for the deep water being turned, with complete attentiveness, toward your pleasure: the ocean has never felt more appealing. The spice is immersive and all-consuming. Tentacles deployed with a precision and focus that makes the whole thing feel less like an encounter and more like a natural wonder of the world. The cold and the dark and the particular sensation of being entirely, willingly surrounded.

Mostly Fs: Your monster match is a Demon

The forbidden, the transgressive, the deal struck in full awareness of what they are and what this costs: it tastes like something you were told not to want, which has always made it all the sweeter. Demons see the darkest corners of your desire and not only refuse to flinch, but dive deeper, which takes some deep breathing to recover from. The spice is dark and deliberate and operates outside the norms you grew up with, and the liberation of that is as much the point as anything physical. Eyes that glow in the dark, a smile that communicates exactly what kind of situation you’ve walked into… You made a deal. You got considerably more than you bargained for. You have absolutely no regrets.

I attended the February Caribbean reading retreat and wish I could rate it higher than 5 stars! This was the best vacation I could have imagined. Not only was the resort amazing, the conversation and the ladies could not have been better.

I had such a lovely time on my retreat to Sicily. Megan is an amazing host who really looked after all of the group and made the trip feel like a fab holiday with friends. I went alone and everyone was lovely - I will happily book again next year. Book! You won't regret it.
