Ladies Who Lit started with the simple belief that women deserve space to slow down — and reading is often the gateway to that.

What began as an online book club has grown into a global community built around books, travel, and connection. Today, we host Reading Retreats around the world designed for women who want to switch off, read in beautiful places, and meet like-minded people along the way.

Our retreats are intentionally slow: sun-drenched villas, quiet reading corners, long dinners, and conversations that go far beyond the book. Each one centres on reading, giving guests a shared experience that turns strangers into friends.

Alongside our retreats, our online book club runs through WhatsApp chats and monthly calls – a low-pressure space for women to read more, scroll less, and reconnect with something that feels like their own again.

At its core, Ladies Who Lit is about carving out time for yourself without guilt. It’s about travelling solo but never feeling alone. And it’s about building a community where women can rest, connect, and take up space – both on the page and in real life.

Ladies Who Lit was founded by Megan Christopher, a lifelong reader with a deep belief in the power of books to bring women together.

The idea for the community came while Megan was travelling across Central America and Europe. Surrounded by beautiful destinations and plenty of time to read, she found herself devouring book after book, but missing the shared experience of discussing them with others. She wanted a space where women could connect over stories, wherever they were in the world.

So she created one.

Ladies Who Lit's vision is simple: to help women carve out time for themselves – to slow down, travel, read, and reconnect with who they are outside of everyday responsibilities.

Today, Ladies Who Lit continues to bring women together through books and shared experiences – turning a love of reading into something far greater than the page.
