Location

British Virgin Islands

Designed exclusively for the Ladies Who Lit community, this 8-day luxury sailing experience explores the British Virgin Islands by catamaran.

This route unveils the magic of the British Virgin Islands one jewel at a time—sailing from secret coves and sandy barefoot bars to rainbow reefs alive with colour. Life drifts into island rhythm: mornings start with a dive into turquoise waters, afternoons are for turning pages under the shade of the sail, and evenings slip into rum-soaked sunsets, barefoot beach walks, and starlit swims.

Whether you’re seeking connection, reflection, or just a moment to breathe, this is a retreat for women who travel solo, read deeply, and crave something a little different.

No sailing experience required — just a love of books, sea air, and slow living.

Itinerary

Day One - Tortola Arrival

Touch down, tune out. You’ll board at Hodges Creek Marina and ease into island time with a sunset cocktail at Dragonfly Bar. Get to know your crew, unpack, and start dreaming of the turquoise water waiting tomorrow.

Day Two - Tortola → Norman Island

Your first full sail glides you to Norman Island, all emerald hills and rum-soaked pirate legends. Snorkel the Indians reef or paddleboard into the sea caves before sunset drinks at the iconic Pirate’s Bight beach bar.

Day Three - Norman Island → Peter Island → Cooper Island

Sail to the peaceful shores of Peter Island. Deadman’s Beach is made for morning swims, and Little Harbour is your anchorage of dreams….all turtles and calm seas. Hike to a secret abandoned house at sunset before heading to Cooper Island for a chilled overnight stay.

Day Four - Cooper Island → The Baths → North Sound

Wake to the sound of sea and rum being poured. Snorkel straight off the deck or sip a rare Caribbean rum before sailing toward The Baths, a granite wonderland of boulders, caves, and trails ending at Devil’s Bay. Anchor in the North Sound for the night.

Day Five - Virgin Gorda → Sandy Spit → Little Jost Van Dyke

Sail west through island-dotted blue to the castaway paradise of Sandy Spit….an islet barely bigger than your towel. Then on to Little Jost for chilled sundowners, beach vibes, and starry-night stories on deck.

Day Six - Little Jost → Guana Island → Great Camanoe

Cruise into White Bay on Guana Island, a snorkeller’s paradise where coral gardens and calm water call. Anchor off Great Camanoe for a dip, a nap, or that book you finally have time to finish. Dinner’s on deck with a side of sunset.

Day Seven - Great Camanoe → Trellis Bay

Your final sail drifts toward Trellis Bay, with a last snorkel stop if the mood strikes. Dock at Hodges Creek Marina in the afternoon. It’s time for goodbyes, barefoot hugs, and one last toast to the best kind of escape.

Day Eight - Tortola Departure

Breakfast at the marina and a slow wave goodbye. You’ll leave with salt in your hair, sand still on your sandals, and more than a few stories to tell.

Accessibility

We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable during our retreats, so here’s a little more detail about the accessibility of this boat: Catamarans can present some challenges when it comes to accessibility. There are steps required to access most areas on board, including the bedrooms and communal spaces. Additionally, when the boat is anchored (rather than docked), guests will be ferried to and from land using a tender—a small boat (think luxury dinghy)—which may be tricky to board for those with mobility issues. Because of these factors, we suggest handling accessibility requests on a case-by-case basis to ensure we can accommodate your individual needs wherever possible. If you have any accessibility concerns or would like to chat about your specific needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help make your retreat experience as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

I attended the February Caribbean reading retreat and wish I could rate it higher than 5 stars! This was the best vacation I could have imagined. Not only was the resort amazing, the conversation and the ladies could not have been better.

I had such a lovely time on my retreat to Sicily. Megan is an amazing host who really looked after all of the group and made the trip feel like a fab holiday with friends. I went alone and everyone was lovely - I will happily book again next year. Book! You won't regret it.
